Mach-1 scoop on my "70" fastback, were dose it go?
I need to know the distance between the the back of the hood to the back of the mach 1 scoop.
I have a ding in the center of my hood from too tall of an intake and air cleaner combo.
Would like to cover it up for now
If some one could help me out, it would be great.

Hi, you need to get a "shaker template".. it's the dimensions for the actual shaker hole, but it also has the bolt locations for the simulated hood scoop on it, and it's relative distance from the base of the hood. I've seen them on Ebay before, just do a search for "mustang shaker template" and you should find something sooner or later.

Not sure about a shaker, but the regular scoop on my 69 is only 1/2" from the rear edge of the hood. Since your hood is dinged anyway, you might consider allowing cold air in through a large hole or holes that will be covered by your scoop. My 11" air cleaner actually sticks thru the hood a little a grabs some cold air that way.

I'd still get a template to make sure you put the holes in the right place. Also, if you will be using the functional turn signals with the hood scoop you will need to know where to cut the two holes for the lamps. The template has that information as well.

Thanks for the info. folks!
I made me a template from the scoop itself and centered it up and placed it a 1/2 inche from the back of the hood. Sure hurt me to drill all those holes in my hood, but it it's gonna look good when I get it on . The car is storm gray and I'm just painting the scoop flat black, so to match my spoilers. Will try to post a pic. when I get finished up.
