Anyone heard of http://www.carpartsdiscount.com/ ???? most parts are cheaper than ive seen around. Good for Canadians since they have a warehouse in Ontario. Save on Customs and shipping. Anyone used them before? becuase im thinking about buying some stuff from them.

well it looks like a good deal but i dunno cause i want to redo my suspension and its considerably less on there i don't want to make a right hand turn and have my suspension go out on me
If you are restoring your car you would want to do it right. Sure saving money is great but would you sacrifice quanity over quality. I have always purchased parts for my car from Mustangs Unlimited or The Paddock. They have never let me down and they will price match.
well i ordered from NPD last year around this time, i ordered the complete floor pan and firewall.....i look at the sticker on the firewall...says company name that made it, went on the internet and guess where it was located....Ontario...............so i basically had to pay 200 dollars in duty on that stuff just for it to go down to Michigan to send it back up to Canada...ridiculous.
So NPD pretty much embarrased them with their shipping offer....NPD wants 95 to ship it meanwhile "cheappartsdiscount" wanted 105 for half of the stuff shipped and it was coming from one province over and NPD's would be coming from Michigan....like...are they serious?
The old addage "you get what you pay for" is true. I ordered the grill trim for my sixty seven because it was cheaper than other places. I found out why. Made in Taiwan and it was not even alluminum/stainless (not sure what the originals are but they are much better quality than the repros), they were one step up from plastic. They seem to be metal, but more like a very cheep pot metal. It all depends on what you want. If money is more important, they do look ok, but I doubt they will last a few years, let alone 40.
Now, I have had this experience with other suppliers as well, so it is not just them. You need to ask so you know exactly what you are getting. "Caveat Emptor," buyer beware. Most places cary the cheep stuff and the good stuff, some parts are not available in high quality repros. Either way you will pay for the good stuff. I wound up buying a good original set on ebay and polished them up.
Good luck!
