If you get a 289 just put a cam, intake and carb on it. If thats to much money, don't get a old car. Get a Toyota. If you want speed you have to spend money. I don't care what you buy. A 351 will eat you up in gas. A 289 is not as bad. You have to keep your foot out of it. My 289 gets 17mpg. Thats not bad.
