OK, so the color change is off. My s-i-l called yesterday and told me to move forward, and I believe she realized or maybe someone else got into her head, that this is now for his daughters not for him any more. So here we go... puttin it together. Pics to come in a week or so when there is some nticable work that has been done.

Good deal! Looking forward to seeing some pics of this progressing along....don't rush it though, plenty of time. Maybe this will give me more motivation to get my quarter panel replaced.
Well its been a while since I last updated the post. So here is what has happened so far:
We have the front bumper on, some of the exterior insignias, door panels instlled, arm rests and door handles installed, the wiring harnesses ran and got the styled GT wheels all cleaned up ready to be painted or powder coated. I had the kids begin to replace the front suspension parts and as soon as that is done; to the back suspension.
When the suspension is done time to drop the motor. The transmission is "supposed" to be done by today and hopefully pick it up on Saturday. The local O'rileys is going to try to donate all the normal stuff when doing a motor swap and if not do some deep discounts.
I still need to get ahold of the headliner installer and have him come get that and the front and rear windshields installed.
When all that is completed time to get that interior completed (carpet, seats, belts, gauges etc.)
Ill try to get some pics posted of its current condition and with the kids working.

I met with Brian Steman at Mustans Plus. They are giving me from 20-25% off all of their parts to finish the car with. He helped me out with some choices as well instead of repairing stuff that I already have, buying a new kit with parts wasn't much more. So tonight im going to be having a conversation with my S-I-L to discuss where she wants to go. I found all the parts to do the granada disc conversion amongst the parts and Im almost done with the front suspension. A few more items to paint and install and it is donw. I have to get the snout of the rotor turned so that it will fit in the styled GT wheels. The rear suspension is just about done, just short of the shocks and thats it. I need to go find a proportioning valve now and a master cylinder and rod that will work.
I still need to get those pics posted. Ive got them on photobucket but havent linked them here yet.

Here are the pictures of the progress. The work is being done by my students at the highschool auto shop.

That's great to see it all coming together. Glad your S-I-L decided not to repaint it. I think once it is all done she'll be happy she did not change it.
That's looking really nice. I'm glad to see this project is still steaming along. And the color looks much better in those pics than in the first couple.
Got all the suspension done, Im just waiting on the machine shop turning the rotor outter bearing housing to fit the rims. In the mean time we are going to attempt to drop the motor and transmission in and get that out of the way. I'm waiting to do a big order from Mustangs-Plus. I can't wait to get the wheels on, engine in and see how she is going to sit.

I sent the Mavrick rotors off last friday to be turned, the machine shop had to take off over .300" from the bearing housing outter diameter to fit the styled rims. He comped the job that would have cost @$70.
After all the idiot pyros we have at the school lighting garbage cans on fire and pulling the fire alarm handles twice a day for the last 4 days, we got the engine dropped in and the mounts bolted up, the trans mounted to the engine, and the trans cross member is ready to be bulted to the frame. It is currently being supported bye a jack.
I picked up a couple of new U-joints and used it as a teachign point for the younger students to demonstrate how to replace them using a small and a large socket 5/8" to push the cups, and a 1-1/16" to catch the cup using a vice. The drive line has been painted, and I powdercoated the backing plates.
Tomorrow we are going to install the driveline, finish bolting up the transmission, and start putting some accessories on the engine to get it going. Ill take some pics tomorrow and post them up of the engine installed in the car.
