Default Carb identification and advice

Alright, it's been warm enough here that we're starting to think about the work we need done on our engine. Went out to see what carb is on there since my mom can't remember what the exact carb was.

It's an Edelbrock, the stamp on the front reads 1408 2652. That isn't helping me, Edelbrocks website doesn't show anything on it through searches, and even google is failing me, which is strange. From what I've sen, that usual carbs that people use on these are 1405 or 1406 series ones. That's where I'm beginning to be a bit confused, I would assume a 1408 is a larger carb than those, but I'm stumped as to how we wound up with one on our standard 302 (although it does stand to reason that may be why we're getting about 12 mpg). It's also sitting on an Edelbrock Torker II 302 intake if that helps at all.

Does anyone know anything about this carb or where I could find info on it?

I can't find any literature on the 1408's, but I'm going to say it's probably a marine carb, seeing as the current marine carbs are 1409 and 1410. If you call Edelbrock, I'm sure they'll be able to tell you what it is.
