Instead of sound deadening your trunk, you should do what I did. I started sound deadening in the trunk above the differential hump and the gastank, but then I decided to do it differently. I covered the back of that divider I made, the trunk-to-cabin framing, and the package tray area with deadening. I figured the trunk can be as loud as it wants, as long as the sound is confined to the trunk.
I left the deadening on the hump and tank though, they will probably be the noisiest areas of anything back there...
