i live close to you. i sent you an email. I can help you with whatever you need. It is important that you read the following thread. It is in regaurds to using you stock heads. I did exactly what you did. It caused me problems.
I ported and polished my stock heads and they were completely gone through. Since i installed an agressive cam, i also had the builder install a matched set of springs and spring retainers. the problem is the rockers on the 66 were non rail type rockers. with the added lift and the added spring tension my rockers gave way and they also damages the vavle stems.
I currently have the engine back out with the heads off. I am installing new valves, along with pushrod guide plates and hardened pushrods, and a set of full roller rockers.
this is costing me almost $400 which includes parts and additional machining. I already spent over $500 on the heads when i had the engine built. So now i have about $1000 into a set of heads that although they will perform great, they are no match for a set of AFR or even Eddy aluminum heads for the price. Ughhhhhhhhh.
Dont make the mistake i just did. Buy Aluminum heads now. figure out how to pay for them and get them. If you dont, you will regret it with that roller block. You wouldnt want to push a valve into a new piston.
READ THIS THREAD. I ALSO FOLLOWED UP A ADDITIONAL THREAD TO THIS ONE WITH MORE INFO.
That would suck! My motor guy is putting roller rockers in the heads already and he has been building motors for years, so I have faith he knows of this problem already, plus the CAM is just a stock 5.0 CAM, not going radical on it. He builds mustang race motors day in and day out. Don't know if you have heard of the enigine shop or not but it is beeing built over at Standard Machine LLC

If it isn't already replaced you should consider doing the cooling system..aluminum radiator, 6 or 7 blade fan with a shroud. Wouldn't want the wife and kid stuck out there
in the middle of August.

The radiator and fan look new but I'll check tonight to see how many blades there are and I know there is no shroud. Thanks for the heads up
The new rear bench seat upolstery has been done already but I noticed that the frame is showing through on the top of the seat back. Anyone know where I can get some of the burlap stuff to put in there to fix it?
I had my covers installed by a shpo across the street from Bell ford. They only charged me $100 to install the covers on my fron two seats. They were ready the next day and they look great. It is next to Kustom Kar Sound on the north side of Bell.
I sent the email to whatever address you had for the forum. My email is swimin@cox.net
give me your info and ill stop by if you have questions or just want to shoot the shat.
I want my car back!
My e-mail is bconverse@yahoo.com the one I registered this account with was my work and might not let you send me e-mails.
I have new upsolstery for the front buckets that are not on yet but do you think those guys can take off the new upolstery on the back seat and put some more padding in there to make it so the seat frame isn't poking against the upolstery?
