Okay for those that do not know my story I came across a 1969 Fastback not a mile down the road from me. I did not have the money to pay cash for it so I financed a portion of it through a classic car lender. They told me I would have to pay $195.00 to have it inspected before I could get my loan approved. No problem I had already planned to do this since I love classic vehicles and know a lot about the history of the cars but not very mechanically inclined. I had already selected a man close by that has had over 20 years experience with classic mustangs. They then told me it was to pay for their inspector.
I thought well they do this all the time so they have to get people that know the classic car business. (WRONG!) This is just a warning for all those people that are looking at financing a classic vehicle. Take someone that knows cars or knows about the particular model you're wanting to buy. Without going into a long rant here is the inspection report that I got and the pictures that my mechanic took before he touched the car, by the way my mechanic is the guy I was going to have inspect it the first time.
Oh and I know this will make me look like a moron for not going with my instinct and having a second party inspect it.

Well it is pretty small sorry if it gives you all eye strain I'm relearning how to do the picture posts. Basically he stated that the suspension and brakes had been completely rebuilt. That it had a 351W (302 actually) and was a GT (neither a GT or a Mach 1). They say a picture is worth a thousand words well here goes.
Front springs
Yes that is correct the springs were cut to lower the car and when they cut them too much they just clamped them back together.
Oh and here is a few more shots of under the rear end of the car.
Notice that the electric fuel pump is being held on by one bolt? It also was leaking (pretty bad) on the "custom" exhaust. The exhaust also broke the headers at the flange. I guess one too many bumps.
Oh and someone (P.O to the P.O.?) removed the wiper switch to put in the electric fuel pump switch.
Oh the car did have a newer AOD transmission in it. Here are some pictures when I thought my car was getting close to being done and driveable again.
I was looking at the new exhaust when the mechanic said by the way I hate to be the bearer of bad news...
Believe me this mechanic comes highly recommended by several friends and several law enforcement personnel that I know. So I'm not going every other weekend to find something else broken.
