Removed the engine to rebuild, put it back and installed new flywheel as well. How in the world did this happen? The screws from the torque converter as well as the damn weight on the flywheel rub on the plate.?????
Dont know what the hell to do. Any advice. Look to see what i mean!!! With the old flywheel installed before i took out the engine they didnt rub why now? Could I have installed something wrong?

dont know the balance factor. thats how the damn thing came. As for the old one, i measured the actual thickness of the whole flywheel with the weight and its 1mm bigger. but i have a 2mm problem. any ideas?

Make sure that you check the weights on the flywheel and that you have the right flywheel for you engine. Also, now this may sound stupid, but make sure that you installed it correctly. Maybe its just me but 70% of all the problems I have are from not putting stuff together right! When you did the rebuild did you balance your engine? When I had mine done they needed the flywheel and had to remove weight from it because it was too heavy. Maybe this is a problem you have as well?
i rebuilt the engine from the heads up, so it didnt need balancing. as for the flywheel, the old one was perfect, i am not sure why the studs on the torque converter would touch when they didnt touch previously
If you have an automatic, you don't have a flywheel, you have a flex plate. Did you get all of the alignment dowels/studs lined up? If not, they'll push the plate out when you try to put everything together

yea all the studs on the flexplate stick out the same length, the weight on the flexplate is the issue more cause i can grind down the studs but what about the freakin weight? anyone has a telephone number i can call to ask and get advice?
