Default HiPo Motor Mount Suggestions

Does anyone have any suggestions for motor mounts for a 289 HiPo. I am swapping out the straight 6 in my 66 coupe for the HiPo. Should I go with the original rubber motor mounts or the newer polyurethane mounts. The cost difference is about $140 for the polyurethan and $30 for the originals. Is it really worth $110 for the polys?

those Ron Morris solid motor mounts are really REALLY nice. And they are fully adjustable which is awesome.

How exactly do you know you have a K code motor?

I assumed he was talking about a performance motor not an actual K code Hypo motor.

Hi-po = K code Pet peve. Just bugs me when people claim they have a 'hipo' 289 when they really don't.

I agree completely. Hypo is getting to be one of those words that we might as well just through away because it has been used so muchand incorrectly that it has lost its meaning. It a lot like the word CUSTOM. IT doesnt mean anything any more.

Sorry...K-code. I've been out of the mustang realm for a few years now. Regardless, what should I go with? Is it really worth the extra money for polys?

Oh, so you actually have a K code motor? Nice. You get to say 'hi-po', because that's what it is

The Ron Morris mounts are nice because they allow you to adjust the motor position for better header clearance, fan alignment, etc. If you don't want to spend the money, Lakewood's high-durometer rubber mounts would be what I'd recommend.

I don't think he was saying he had a K code motor, were you southwcm? A K-code is the facaty HIPO motor. They are pretty rare and valuable.

LOL my 289 is hipo! the majority of gearheads dont realize ford made a K motor, but HiPo is a broad term with any auto make. Even so, a K code isnt that all high and mighty in the power realm so The rubber jobbers will probably do.
