As I said above "This will be a modern duplicate of what be built back in 1977 for a 65 we owned back then, only this will have modern ignition, roller rockers, roller lifters and cam, better manifold etc etc."
It is definitely going to be much more modern, we are not using all the equipment of the past.

Right, but you can still mismatch cam, heads and intake, which was the primary problem from back then.

Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.

Well, something else to keep in mind, is if it's a high rpm engine, TKO's don't shift well past 6,500rpm without modification. They use a bronze blocker ring & synchro assembly like the old Toploaders, and as a result are very hard and notchy to shift over 6,500, and sometimes will fail to engage. It's also very hard on the blocker rings. You need to find out exactly what the deal with the engine is going to be, so you know what you need as far as a trans. If it's going to have a shift point past 6,500rpm you may want to consider going with a T56(carbon clutch cones, shifts much better), the extra overdrive will also let you run more diff gear to help out if the engine favors higher rpm better. Or a modified TKO from some place like Promotion Powertrain in Florida.

Okay guys I need some more help on a Tranny issue. Per advice I ordered the Ron Morris T5 Crossmember for 65-66. My friend went to get the T5 and it turns out it is a T-45OD not a T5. There seems to be no phone number on the Ron Harris website and I called 411 and no number listed based on the address on his site. My question to him is will the bracket I ordered fit a T45 or do I need to get a different bracket?
Also any comments on the T45OD? I dont see much on it?

Please advise I need to make some decisions quickly, anyone with answers please feel free to also call me @ 562-884-0788.
Thanks
Bernie

The T45's will only fit Modular engines. They were made with an integral bellhousing that can't be changed, and were designed for 4.6L OHC Ford engines.

Very true! Matching components is key. I have a blueprinted, port-matched 289HP that puts out smokin' power, because everything matches. Runs with virtually no vibration in the shift lever, even on the highway at speed. Actually kinda weird.

I have seen a lotta cars at cruise night with chrome everything, 8mm wires, 2.5" exhaust, 750 double-pumper, etc., and they run like crap.
