This is what I run:
540lb 1" drop springs from OpenTracker
Shelby UCA drop
Roller perches from Day @ Dazecars
OE style UCA/LCA's
15/16" front sway bar (no rear bar)
Edelbrock IAS shocks (front/rear)
4.5 leaf mid-eye (1" drop) springs from M+
Monte Carlo bar
Export Brace
I'm happy with the ride quality and handling for a daily driver that occasionally gets driven hard around country roads. The car handles great, and the suspension is definitely firm, but it doesn't rattle my teeth loose on the crappy roads here. If the roads here were a lot smoother, and if I didn't drive my car every day, I'd opt for the stiffer 620 springs. I may also cut the 540's at some point, which will increase spring rate. I wouldn't want to cut 620's.
I may add a small rear bar and upgrade to a 1-1/8" front bar to counter some excessive rear body roll during hard cornering, but I wouldn't recommend this for most people (most people don't drive as hard as I do occasionally). A 15/16" front bar is fine for most street cars. When I get to it, it'll be an experimental measure.
KYB Gas-A-Just shocks are more affordable than Edelbrocks, but they ride a lot stiffer. I noticed a much better ride quality and slightly less body roll with the Edelbrocks, and the tires seem to stay planted on rough roads a lot better. Before the swap, the rear would skip around rough corners.
Steering-wise, the stock setup is fine. I installed a roller idler, but it's not required, and I wouldn't recommend it for a pure street driver. It is nice for a m/s car that gets driven hard as it improves road feel and slightly decreases steering effort, but it messes with the return-to center function.
