that sounds awesome. thanks man. dont mean to change the subject but what about manual to power steering?
honestly id stick with the manual, as the conversion is pricey and its gonna end up leaking(they all do:P )

His cheapest option? Get the drums he has serviced properly. Seriously, millions of Mustangs were made with drums, and stopped just fine, otherwise we'd be seeing them pasted to bridge abutments or telephone poles all over.
Why he wants to upgrade them is the critical question. Does the hard manual pedal bother him? Get power boost. Use Master Power OEM style, with modern dual master.
If he's going to drive in club events, like autocross, get OE style front disc.
If he's been reading magazines, all of which will tell him he NEEDS huge 4-wheel disc brakes, burn the magazines, and go for a nice drive.

well he's got a 429 thats pushing 500+HP and he's already dropped it in. this car is NOT going to be a resto project. and yea... thats a pretty heavy motor compared to the stock 289
also here in TX when drums get hot.... alot of them really dont work

OK you qualify for door #1 AND door #2, get the OE style booster with dual master AND Kelsey-Hayes factory style brakes.
One last though- How did you get the 429 in there? That's a tight fit in a 67-70.
A big block won't fit with out a hell of a shock tower notching. If its a stroker small block that is different world makes a 460 small block now.If hes got that much power the oem disc are not good enough http://www.mustangsteve.com/cobrabrakes.html the cobra brakes or wilwood sells kits 4 and 6 piston.
