My 65 along with many others did not come with emergency flashers. I would like for it to have them. Has anyone added them to their 65? If so, what did you do, is there a kit for this? I have seen that the original switch is supposed to go in the glove box.

I would visit the Ron Francis or Painless websites and see if they have a relay or something that can be used to wire some emergency flashers in. Maybe even just give them a call, its usually easier than dealing with the site.

you could wire them in just fine. just gotta have some patience and plan it out.
pick up a flasher relay from any parts store, then you would need the base that the relay plugs into.
wire everything into the relay base. most likely it will be a wire run to a switch then to the relay as the power source of the relay. from there you would have the one wire splittng out into the 2 (1 front 1 back) and then just run the 2 fronts and 2 backs in series.

I was thinking about getting this, but was told that its not compatible with 65 that it only fits 66. I thought that flashers were an option in 65. Where they not even available until 66.
that and a switch would be a good start. there are some schematics in the FAQ. I would study them and see how the 66 flashers are wired and then see how to modify a 65 to make it work.
I bought a 4-pole double throw switch from an electronics house and wired mine. I could do a wiring diagram if you are interested in tackling it. The switch was about $20.
They were an option on the 65, but the wiring is different (on a lot of things) on the 66.
The first half of 66, the e-flasher circuit was added on. There was a set of jumper plugs at the turn signal switch connection at the column, and a jumper for power at the cigar lighter. If you can find one of those, you could do the whole job in like an hour, with no study of diagrams required, just plug and play.

I got the entire harness with the switch off of ebay for less than MUs price for just the harness, so they are available. And 2+2 is right, it is easy to install. The plugs only fit the connectors one way. The hardest part was fishing the wires to the back of the lighter.
The switch is hardwired to the harness so look for a complete harness and switch, don't buy one with the wires cut unless you like to splice.
There's one on ebay right now, it's a little steep @ $200, but it is NOS.

So if I got that setup from ebay, I probably wouldn't need anything else?

As it is the flashers need their own flasher anyway. You'll need two, the electronic ones are available at Napa for short money.
If you get the whole shebang and have any trouble installing it someone here will guide you through it.
