That totally sucks...I know your going to hate me for this but im surprised at how well the mustang folded up. Thats a very good looking crumple zone with little to no intrusion to the driver compartment and no crumpling past the front window...That's better than most of the crash test I have seen for smaller modern cars.
Were you hurt at all?....its never too late for some back pain to start up

Wow man, that really sucks. But hell, we're all glad you're alive! When it comes down to it a car is just a rolling hunk of metal, no matter how pretty it is. Your life, on the other hand, cannot be summed up so simply.

It doesn't look like there is much hope for that one, the whole frame is probably twisted to hell. But your idea of getting another 65 and using it as a donor can work, you've got nice doors and I'm sure the interior is still in good shape. Whatever you decide to do, good luck!

and +1 to sueing her... she must have a house or something you can claim, if not she'll be spending the rest of her life making payments to you. Once again, good luck!

Very sorry to hear, I hope you are okay and recovering well. The car is replaceable.

What kind of injuries did you suffer from the accident? I would be curious to know what is most vunerable in a crash like this in a vintage Mustang.

Tim

I agree.. sue her and make her pay for all your hard work! Glad to hear your back on your feet and getting around. That is most important.

Glad that happened on the passenger side! If it would have happened on the driver's side, there's a darned good chance you'd have been killed, or wished you were dead.
Are there any wrinkles behind the door, or in the roof line?
If not, it's not as bad as you think. Every piece you would need is available repro.
Don't sign the death certificate on your baby so fast amigo!
Take a week or so, and a lot of deep breaths, then look damned close.
If you want to see some cars that are worse, PM Thumpin455. He's brought back some real dussies!
It's all metal, which means it can be replaced, straightened, stretched and shrunk.
Body parts don't cost *that* much. Think it over, and maybe send some good shots to Thumpin455. He may be able to give you some suggestions.
Good luck!

Agreed. Get yourself a lawyer and sue her into the ground.

I'm glad you're alive, though. Hope your recovery goes smooth.

oh wow, that's a lot worse than i thought. glad you made it out alright. i still say it's fixable though. mine was hit from the driver's side and buckled the passenger side. i replaced the whole quarter, truck floors, tank, door jamb, door, valence, tail light panel, bumper, necessary frame rails and wheels wells, etc. etc. basically rebuilt the rear end from the driver's door on back. the roof was fine which saved me a lot. but if you feel like it would be easier to go with making a donor out of it go for it. i would keep the car though. after all it would make a hell of a history on that thing.

oh and take advantage of her not having insurance. +1 on sueing her. my situation was with a canada dry truck, so after talking to the company we settled to part our own ways and leave it at that. damage for damage, fault for fault.

The best part is you are OK. It could be fixed, I have seen worse. Frankly, though, you could buy another one for less than the cost of repair.

She owns something. Make her sell it and buy you another Mustang.
