Default a/c compressor

I need to replace my original a/c compressor and got a tip the other day to replace the compressor with a smaller one because the original compressors take up too much of the engine power.

Can anyone suggest a smaller compressor? Having an original a/c car is new to me so any help is appreciated

Thanks!
