There was not an original 4 lug disc brake setup. All the change out kits move you to 5 lug front discs. The kit selection between 6 and 8 cylinders is based on the steering.... it is different between 6 and 8 cylinder cars. The suspension is the same.

The rear end has to be changed completely to go from 4 to 5 lug. You can't stick 4 lug axles in a 5 lug rear end.

I think what he is asking is how would the car perform with the 6cyl disc brake conversion that is available nowadays
