Yea. im also having the same issue. i just went through an inspection and failed because my back left brake pad was too worn.. So i purchased 4 brand new brake pads and had them installed. The brakes work as advertised, but i noticed there was an annoying squeek comming from the front left pad, but went away after i hit the brakes. i figured it was because the pads were brand new, so i just road it out squeeking all around town. It began getting worse so i took it to a mechanic and he re-bled the brake lines and took off a little bit of my rotor to ensure they weren't warped. He said my callipers were good but it could be a dirty brake line causing my calliper to be stuck with pressure and not able to release the brake fluid.. Is this likely?
p.s i did jack the car after driving and tried spinning the tire and its the only tire that doesnt spin freely. that pad is rubbing any suggestions pleaaase?

It does sound like you may have a stuck caliper. Also, you said that only ONE side of your rear brakes was worn. This is also usually the result of a stuck caliper. Your brakes should wear evenly. That is, the rears should wear the same side to side and front pad to back pad. The same with the fronts. If they aren't, you likely have a stuck caliper. The only real way to fix this is to replace them and the proper way to do that is in pairs. As in both fronts and/or both backs at the same time. Also, you should also replace all the brake fluid when you do this. Not only is it the proper way, it will ensure that your fluid is not contaminated.
If the pads are good, it's probably a vibration problem....
Exactly. Most of the time, if the pads are good, what causes the squeak is a high speed vibration. That is why they sell disc brake quiet. It's basicaly a silicone sealer that is applied to the back of the pads and helps cushion them against the caliper and bracket.
