and the winner is tataaaa: Crane Hi-6 ignition box.
I checked on the manual and it works with the Mallory unilite distributor I currently have in my trunk and am itching to put back in.
i decided on the crane as people seem to like it and i always prefered things that are a bit different :-)

All in all, I think that you should not get either, so I did not vote, I think that you should get a Crane Hi-6 ignition box to work with your Unilite distributor.

Just my opinion though....

cool JMD, i'm very happy with the decision. i thought crane was gone and wouldn't have looked into this otherwise. And now here's the cracker. The HI-6 box is 223$ and the coil 59$. and summit has an offer on the pair of it for 99$ !!!!!
yes. you read correctly. reduced from 339$ to 99$

I nearly bought two of them just to sell the other here for 200 ...
so yes. this is putting a big smile into my face now

Wow, I might need to study up on that setup, I do have a Unilite on my Lincoln.

$99 even saves you on that VAT, right?

I had a buddy of mine ordering it last night who needed a few parts as well, so we might eb caught for duty/tax. But I'm to thrilled to care about that now... (summit always has 25$ shipping and handling on international orders, so that would have broken our back already I guess).
But yes, the cut-off seems to be 100$

as for the unilite distributor together with this box:
the HI-6 manual:
http://69.20.53.62/pdf/90006000d.pdf

....
AFTERMARKET IGNITIONS
Crane XR700 and XR3000 and other aftermarket
points conversion systems such as the Mallory Unilite, are
compatible with the HI-6.
....
there's even a wiring diagram for the mallory in it (what to do with those 3 unilite cables).
Seems to work with points, unilite, but not with MSD distributors
See figure 9 on page 13 on how to wire ... I have a feeling that it needs, that coil, but that's included anyway in that deal
