Default 4 barrel finished off my c4 transmission

As some of you may know I recently got my 4 barrel running perfectly. But I think my transmission may have been weak and the added hp finished it off. The tranny slips in and out of gear alot and I think somewhere the linkage might be messed up but this time its not the bolt on the inside of the pan like we had last time. I haven't been able to check the linkage from the bottom of the shifter yet but I uploaded a video hoping that will help. If not I had a friend recommend a guy in rockwall called spark sparks that builds race transmissions. Just curious what is an average estimate for a rebuilt tranny and installation? Thanks for any help.

I agree check the fluid and see if its low or smells burnt. Is it red or brown? It may just be low.

A rebuilt C4 shouldn't cost all that much, maybe 500-600. I would say that if the transmission really is shot then now is a great time to get an AOD for your Stang. If you do that get a non electronic one.

If I had to do it over again, I would buy a rebuilt one and have it put in, I got hosed on the extra parts (inspection plate, top plate, cracked case and a few pieces that did not go to mine!) and the hours of labor... mine had so many wrong parts from some idiot that tried to build it... it barely moved and sounded like it was going to explode, it didn't move the day I took it into the shop.. anyhow, it ended up costing $1,200 (a C4)! More than a new one and the labor charge to put it in!
I like the guys who did the work, but I won't be using them again. If you can get it done for $500-$600, then I would do it, otherwise I would get a new one and have it put in for a set fee... too many things can go wrong with a rebuild and cost more than the new one.

Check your vacuum modulator line also. If it is not getting proper vacuum it will act funny like that.

Wow I feel kind of stupid now. It was the transmission fluid there wasn't enough. What had happened was I had the car parked after it first gave me problems and dropped the pan. But then when putting the fluid back in I forgot that I didn't put in as much as I took out and so far its running good again. Thanks

Ya i'm really excited I was already saving and selling some stuff for the rebuild but now i'm thinking headers probably hooker or tri-y. Not sure if long tube or shortys I have heard some longtubes cause steering column issues. But I started by cashing in my pennies I have been saving for like 10 years and cashing in half got me $68 dollars with 7400 pennies.
