Angry WTF!! Bird Crap ate through my clear coat!

So I was lazy and I paid for it. I parked my car under a tree two mondays ago just after a nice bath on Sunday. Some birds crapped on my hood, I tried to get it off with some spray cleaner and a rag, but didnt have much time so I just left it and let it be for two weeks. Yesterday I washed my car. the crap came off, but after drying the car I noticed a silver dollar sized pitted area right in the gloss black front middle part of my hood. And another two quarter sized spots that look just like it. I tried to polish it down with some mguires scratch remover, but that just make it a shiny pitted spot.

LESSON OF THE DAY! DONT LEAVE BIRD CRAP ON YOUR CAR!!

I might try to take some 2000 grit to it with my rubber block and then polish it again, but Im afraid because its right in the middle of my gloss black hood.

Any suggestions? I could just repaint the whole hood. Not that I want to.

"Wash" is the right word, too, birds eat grit to help with digestion, and if you rub the do-do, you'll be grinding that grit into the paint.

If the bird has an acidic diet it will most definitely eat through the clear coat if left too long...

It is amazing what will eat through clear coat. Egg is terrible. It destroyed a company vehicle we have.

I was at a car show several years ago where a spectator spilled their drink in a few dribbles on a guys car fender. Not very nice, but you would not think it would eat through the paint. Being a car show, the guy did not have water or a sponge right there so he just left the sticky liquid on the car. A few hours later I went back by the guys car and the drink had eaten through the clear coat to the point of cracking and discoloring it. I was like man that total sucks for you and what was that guy drinking?

this is why it is so important to keep a good coat of wax on the car

Bird crap is # one paint stripper! I have personal experience in this matter. I once had a nice looking ford ranger hood.

Brake fluid spilled on the paint makes for a very bad problem if you don't get it off right away. Not only will it take the paint off all the way to the metal, it will also impregnate the metal making it impossible to repaint it.
