Getting started on merging the EFI harness into the car
Finally getting started on the wiring, which is my favorite part of any build.
With the EFI system, electronic gauge package, electric fans triggered by the EFI PCM, etc, it will be a lot of fun to merge the old, with the "not so old".
NPD sells wire tape, and also the cloth termination tape too. So the end result should look like a factory harness.
I'm using the harness from a donor '90 Fox. Ford has some really nice connectors, and some that are a real PITA. I'm trying to stick with the nice ones. They come apart easy, are sealed, and in the end will make it easier for me to write the wiring schematics.
After stripping the PCM harness of all the excess, it kind of looks like spaghetti. But it's easy to follow. And there is enough extra wire, that extending a wire can be done with a splice in of the same color wire.
When the harness gets wrapped and taped, it looks really good.
Since I had to mount all the sensors and actuators before starting on the wiring, I built the cold air intake box to mount the maf. The top and two more tabs for the apron, still need to be completed. The box is made of 1/8" aluminum sheet.
I ended up pulling the two original bulkhead connectors out of the body. I'll fill the holes before the car is running. With the EFI, and electronic gauge package, the engine harness isn't used, and the chassis harness will end up being a 12 wire connector, (due to some added components) running down the outside of the apron on the drivers side.
The goal is to keep the wiring as hidden as possible, because the EFI system is busy enough.
I'll update this thread, as more progress is made.

I'm doing the same minus the supercharge. Haven't had time to work on it lately, I started last Christmas and still haven't finished (someday). I am also using a 90 fox wiring. What trans are you using.
just got done wiring my EFI system from a 91 fox donor car and turned the key for the first time this past weekend. Went with a carb style TB and a vic jr intake though.
Your on the home stretch. Attaching the EFI harness to the existing wiring is cake, 4 connections max.
the air box is a good idea it keeps the MAF sensor from getting air washed by the fan creating false readings...

Thanks guys, I sincerely appreciate the comments.
I was trying to save the wiring project for last, but needed to something "fun" for a change, to stave off burnout. So, I'll still have some more work to do before it hits the streets.
Guybored,
the transmission is a T5z, and have another T5 that will get built up as a race box later (after the roll bar is done).
EZFEED,
The routing in the picture of the washer hose was just to see if it's long enough to reach, going outside the apron. Factory ran it with the wire harness. I'm going to put a grommet in the hole right behind the hood hinge, and run it through that, since there won't be a harness on the engine side of the apron.
James,
I forgot to take pictures, but if there is something specific you'd like to see, or if you want any measurements, I'm more than happy to share. The one thing that will be different here, is the additional air holes in the radiator support (due to grafting in the '67 radiator support). But they could always be added to the stock '66 radiator support, like Anglia did.
Passover1,
I was so close to doing that! Similar to the Mas-Flo system. It looks so much more period correct. Congratulations on your start up! Are you going to have the ECU chipped? or are you going to do your own tuning?
Rmodel65,
Yeah, that and heat are the two main reasons for fabricating it. The shape is like a square funnel, I'm hoping this will also raise the pressure inside the box around the rear of the filter. Which should also help smooth airflow through the MAF. C&L have a bad reputation. And since it is now solid mounted, I can't "clock" it, like I did when it was in the Fox.
