Starfury--I am only able to find solid flat tappet single lifters, also if I do find a solid roller is it not a different length than a hydraulic and throw my measurement off? I though solid lifter set deeper in the lifter galley

I decided I wanted a motor with a little more longevity potential (better rod ratio), seeing as it's a daily driver. Also, I've seen some of the 347 pistons with the ring lands above the wrist pins, and they're short. Uncomfortably so.
Basically, a long rod 331 will make almost as much power and won't put as much side load on the pistons/cylinder walls as a 347. Neither is a bad way to go, but I'm happy with my decision.

I'm not at work so I can't check my listings there, but I'll swing by tomorrow and take a look.
A solid lifter simply has dummy internals. The outside dimensions are all the same.

Can't use a solid flat tappet. Two reasons. The flat tappet is short overall. And when you role over the motor, the flat tappet will dig into the lobe of the roller cam.

That is obvious. Just stating that I cant find any single solid roller lifters. Seems like all anyone sells as a individual are either solid tappet or hyd roller.
you can use a hyd. roller lifter for your mock up. just pop the clip off the top of the lifter, remove the guts, stack small washers in there to fill it up, put the little cap piece back on and snap the clip back in. its actually really easy, and saves you $$$. when your done, just put it back together with the hyd. guts and your good to go.
