Default removing carpet and insulation

I started gutting the interior in my car for when I replace the floor pans and rear frame rails and it dawned on me as I sat there, scissors in hand, in a whirlwind of insulation dust... My insulation isn't made from asbestos is it? It's original carpet from 1973. Should I be wearing a mask when removing the insulation?

Don't bother calling a lawyer, it's only jute. The only asbestos in Mustangs was the woven heat cover on the choke tube.

Yeah, I said scissors, but I really just grabbed the nearest cutting utensil I could find which was some kind of shrub trimmer lookin' thing and it was dull so I was ripping most of it out.
