Do bump steer tie rod kits work ?

Just installed a TCP manual rack and pinion in my 66 FB. Less than impressed so far. Harsh feeling and horrible bump steer problem. Can't get alignment close unless I cut down new tie rod end ( as recommended to me my TCP tech). Surprised I would have to cut new rods in a custom kit. They sell a 'bump steer' kit that adjusts at the stud vertically. Anyone with an opinion if I should invest in these ? Seem over priced at $189. Mark

Are you talking about the Baer Tracker outer tie rod kit? If so, I highly recommend it. I had terrible bump steer issues before I redid my front suspension. I used the kit and I have zero bump steer now. The only issue I had was that I had to cut the new adjusting sleeves that come with the kit by 1" total (1/4" off one side and 3/4" off the other). I was surprised that I had to cut a "custom" part too, but I did and it worked. Cost me a 1/2 day of running around town trying to find someone that would cut them and $30. But in the end it all worked out. Good luck!

I also like the fact that this kit gets rid of the outer tie rod rubber boot and replaces it with a helm joint. Much nicer in my opinion.

Check Street or Track. I got mine for $149 less than a month ago.

I did the shelby drop and did my own alignment and no longer have bump steer.
