Black priver on New body parts/panels..to remove or not?
Had my 65 mustang coupe blasted and then sprayed with black two part expoxy. Now putting on new body parts, doors, fenders, quarters, etc. These new parts have the overseas black primer on them.... This primer does not come off with rag and laquer thinner...
Does this need to be removed prior to spraying with primer for paint body work process? And if yes, what is the best way to remove with minimum damge to panels?

Its a type of electroplating, it sands off but it wont come off with thinner or hurt the paint. Like the other two said just rough it up and shoot the primer over it.

yeah those panels like your fenders and doors etc if they dont have any dings you just sand, seal and paint.... stuff thats welded on take a little more work :P

There are a few little dings from shipping... do I need to do something different to this before putting filler on it? I was thinking rough it up, prime it, fill it, prime it, etc....
I'd personaly take your dings down to metal an fill than high-build primer. thats how I was taught in High School bodyshop, I learned more usefull stuff in that class than all other classses in hs. As a second year student we did a 64.5, teacher was old school an taught us lead filling 2

id rough it up with 80 grit paper no need to go to bear metal....wipe with filler, block sand, prime, block sand, prime....

you dont need to take it to metal just rough it up so it has some bite also you dont really want to fill in dings with tons of primer f they are shallow i use "icing" instead of regular filler
