You should go with the 347 stroker. You could also do a 331 stroker. i wish i would have built a stroker. i ended up spending just as much money.
my car is fun but 50-75 more poneys would be more fun
ive actually considered putting a modular in mine.....currently i have the option for a professionally built 347 stroker putting out 420hp or a 98 4.6 32 valve dohc cobra engine puting out 350......opinions? which would be better? the car will be a daily driver.......ive owned an 04 cobra with 600hp so im lookin for some serious power....let me know thanks

TO: Ricers- 1) there's no replacement for displacement 2) my lug nuts require more torque than your engine makes 3) a light car doesn't excuse a weak engine 4) a bottle of pepsi has more liters than your car. Eating rice builds muscle!
Unless its a terminator the cobra engines arent that great (the 98 for example). For the cost of making it fit you could SC or turbo the 347 and match your termi in power. Unless you were looking for complete new suspension front and rear and dropping some serious coin i would honestly go 347 with the option of a blower. If it was a termi motor on the other hand, you know the potential of those clearly.

I just got done building a 302 (or having it built at any rate).
We went with slightly ported GT40 heads, Holley 4 bbl, Weiand stealth intake and a 214/224 cam.
It has some "pep" to it but won't be winning any races at the quarter mile track any time soon. The cam makes for a great sound with some lope but I didn't go overboard. Actually, my idle is a little high right now so it sounds "ok", LOL!
My builder's guess is that the engine we built will run about 300hp give / take.
I second what Nick says though...if you are going to build a stroker be prepared to beef up other parts of the car as well. Strokers have enough HP that their one true talent is breaking things on a stock / oem car.
I was trying to get a feel for that a short while ago in my 351 vs 393 debate. How much power starts breaking things? 400-450 rwhp safe with export brace, monte carlo bar and subframes?
