ive just noticed a small hairline crack near the bottom screw of my alternator bracket. tried shaking and it was still very tight on and i tightened the bolt a little
am i going to run into any problems?

you talking about the triangular stamped steel piece? or the water pump where the bolt goes in?

i doubt it will be a problem but you could always buy a new one for about 20$ or remove and weld the crack grind it back down on your old one
