I have a 65 289, when I bought the car it had a 302 just sitting in the bay. I have completly rebuild it. now the ? is should I use 289 emblems on the car or put 302 emblems on. I know that 65 66 didnt come with 302. would it be one of those odd looks.

I left my emblems off (except for a suble 4.6 on the tail light panel). I've had more that one 'Mustang know-it-all' tell me my car is a 6-cylinder because it has no emblem. What they don't know won't hurt me!
But as RogerDodger1 said, do what looks best to you - it's your car.
There's so many of these things floating around with engine swaps and a whole host of other modified/aftermarket parts that you're not really gonna raise any ire with it. At worst, you'll have to answer "You know the 65 didn't come with the 302, it was a 289" a bunch with "But it's got a 302 now". Alternately, if you use the 289 badges on it, people will ask "Is that the original engine/Was it a factory 289" and then you have to deal with answering that. So, really, it comes down to which question do you want to answer more.
Personally, I say go with the 302. Truth in advertising, and all that.

I agree with 2+2GT.
have a 65 with a 302 and got these. They look exactly like the 289 badges but say 302 instead.
