Default Redline on a 302 from a 93 fox body?

I just picked up an Autometer 3903 Sport Comp Tach for my 67 FB that is equipped with a 302 from a 93 Fox Body. I was trying to set the redline and was wondering what everyone thought was a comfortable RPM shift point/redline on a 302 from a '93 Mustang.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert on stock 5.0's, but I'd guess at 5500 or so.

Its about 5500 or so.

If you have a 67 you should get this tach that fits the clock provision in the instrument cluster.

I know if I had a 67-68 its what I would get.

I believe the tach in my 90 says 5k, but I'll have to check Tuesday when I go to school. The bottom ends are pretty solid, but I can't imagine the cam is going to make power much past 5k.

+1 on that clock hole tach. I hacked a Jeep CJ tach into the clock hole on my '67 before that was available and I love it. Perfect placement for a tach.

i would just accellerate in 3rd gear. when power drops at 4500, set it at 5000. no point in running 5500 then

redline is 5.5k but power falls before that with stock heads and cam intake etc

I haven't seen them sell one of those on ebay in a while. I just went to autozone and bought me the small Sunpro tach and stuck it on my steering column. Cost me around $32.

The Jeep tach mod is still a viable option
