Default 65 coupe full quarter panel fitting

I have got the old panel removed... all spot welds cut out and ground away... Trying to fit my new panel, and having a heck of a time where the new panel meets the existing trunk filler panel.

All else seems to fit well. I did not slide the tail into place as to allow it to move rearward if needed.

I just cannot figure out what is hanging it up from coming back and into the existing panel. It only needs about a 1/4" back and in.

Any suggestions on how to massage my Dynacorn panel?

You can see here that I have a good 1/4" that I can push it back, but she just won't move. Rubber mallet is no match.

You're suggestions are much appreciated.

Tony, I had the same issue. Mine was being held up at the rear of the sail panel area. (red arrow in pic) I had to take a lot of material out to get it to fit.

Looks to me as though the pinchweld has some material stopping it. Bending, grinding, or cutting should give you what you need.

Yep, that's how mine fit too. They also didn't fit at the bottom, door post, tail panel . . . Lots of bending, clamping, welding, cursing and then Metal-2-Metal filler and Z-chrome to smooth it all out.
