Default Vinyl convertible top treatment

I use Liquid Glass, Connoisseur's Choice. Used it on a 1994 Mercury Capri I once owned and now that I have a Mustang I'm using it again. Covers real good and is long lasting, not to mention a very pleasant smell.

I use 303. It has been the boat standard for years and seems to last longer than others.

I've used all this stuff, and decided to try Greased Lightning. It worked much faster and easier by using only a cloth saturated with the stuff then washing it off. For real stubborn stains I used it with a brush and again it worked fine. I have a white top. I've not noticed any ill effects from using it.

Carefull getting the protectant on the windows though. I would tape off the windows ahead of using it again.

A couple of months ago I bought a used convertible and they had just installed a brand new top. I wanted to know what to use on the top to clean it and then coat it with a protectant. The car lot gave me the name of the trim guy who installed the top and he told me he bought the convertible top from Kee Auto Tops. I was going to call Kee and when I looked them up I saw that they are located right here in Charlotte! I went over there today and asked them what to use on the vinyl top I have (turns out most tops are now vinyl, not canvas). He said the folks they buy the top material from, Haartz, recommends the cleaner and protectant from Ragg Topp. I have some cleaner so I got a bottle of the protectant while I was there.
