Default Convert into a Convertible

I have a question, and its serious,it funny it may sound...

I have a 2003 Mustang...regular.I was having thoughts how much and how possible it is,to make out of a regular mustang into a convertible?

So my question is, is this possible?
do you guys know anyone or head anyone having done that?
and how much this might cost?

and sure, tell me if this is even worth it? lol.. . .

thanks

I think you might be better off selling it and buying a vert. With how much stiffnes you would lose in stiffenss it would be easier to just buy one. We took the top off a VW super beatle in HS and it was a bitch getting everything to stay in it's place. Took a hellofa lot of metal for it to act right.

I am not saying it could not be done, but I have to agree with vt89, you would be better off selling it or trading for a vert. You will need the entire top, frame, hydralic system, and you will have to fab all brackets and hardware to fit your car. I would not attempt it unless you are an outstanding mechanical engineer with lots of know how. It would definitely be a project.

Unless your chip foose or loaded or both, sell and buy another... a ton of custom fab work needed.

HBKHBK,

You will be serious money ahead and avoid the inevitable heartburn if you just trade your regular 'Stang for a vert or sell it outright and buy a vert. Here's a link to a listing of 169 2003 Mustang Convertibles for sale within 200 miles of Columbus:

Good Luck,

I would literally cost you more to have it "professionally converted" than to buy a nice used convertible and have two cars.

Mustangzrx, please hyperlink that URL. It's about 36 inches wide.
