"back in the day" means 1996 cobra right? ford made a limited number or 499 removeable hardtops as an option on the 1996 cobra ford decieded it wasnt cost effective and thus decommisioned it ive only seen one in my entire life and they are a beautiful car

Those smoothline tops look Fugly!

And, it's NOT good for the convertible top to be folded down for long lengths of time, like it would be if you dropped the top & stuck a solid top clip in place. The soft top would crease up like crazy & possibly even crack at the sharp seams

I actually own #447 of 499 1995 Cobra Hardtop convertibles. I have pictures posted in my photo album. I have only had the car for 2 years and I love it. You don't see them very often and when I found mine on Craigslist, I had to have it. When they have the top on, they look just like a coupe. Even have the dome light. Suprisingly, I haven't had any problem with the soft top getting cracked or cut from being folded up all winter.

1995 was the only year they made them and all were Black. Get one if you can find one
