Whats wrong with putting them on axle? you could always put them on the frame right in front of where the lower control arm meets the frame, but that wouldn't be my first spot. i've jacked the car up by the pumpkin, axles and right where the lca meets the frame. i've never done it right before the lca, but i assume it will work as long as u have a back up jack stand under the axle just in case it falls

Just make sure you don't put on a soft spot on the rocker, or it will look like mine. I had a stupid previous owner (Fairfax Co. Police :-P )

I am going to swap out the LCAs and I don't have a lift. So I am going to raise the rear end, put it on jacks in a way I can free up the axle. I need to be able to move the axle up and down to align the LCAs prior torque.

LCAs need to be torqued at ride level, not jacked up by the
frame, rear end hanging at full suspension extention.
Whatever you do, dont jack the rear with the diff housing.
Read the owners manual for the recommended jacking points
or refer to the diagram below. Use something soft between
the jack platten and the mustang body to prevent scratches
thru the rustproofing coating down to bare rustable metal.
