Planning a complete overhaul on suspension for a SN95 'vert..suggestions appreciated
I'm planning a complete suspension overhaul for my '94 GT convertible next summer. I currently have stock EVERYTHING in the suspension, and I have 115,000 miles on my car. It's probably time for an overhaul.
I'm just wanting a bit of a drop and a nice, smooth system without spending a hundred million dollars. Ideally, I'd like to stay around/under $1,000 for the entire system, if that's reasonable. I put 18x9 Saleen replica rims with 265x35's a while back and the wheel gap is simply atrocious..
I'm planning on having the suspension work done at the same time as I have my car painted, so I'm already planning on dumping $3,000 for the paint. :\
I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, but it's hard to get an answer as specific as this by searching around. As always, links are much appreciated so I can easily bookmark the entire "order" and remember everything.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
-Jordan

Thanks for that worthless suggestion. Don't you think that if I knew anything about suspensions, I'd already know what to buy?
Jesus, man.

hey...im not a genius in the suspension area but im assuming you are going to want to get a nice set of springs (the website will tell you ow much drop they have), and then maybe a set of caster/camber plates, and then a set of subframe connectors. that will drop you a little and also stiffen up the body of the car so it doesnt flex so much. that should cost you around $1000 in parts.

..$1000 for springs, c&c plates, and subframes? Isn't that a bit spendy for just those three items?
Also, wouldn't it be a really bad idea to install new springs on OEM, original shocks with ~116,000 miles on them?

Gotta say, the one big mod I wold like to do on my 96 (other than gears) is SFC's... Probably will never get around to it though- wanna buy a Bassani X-pipe? lol
the shocks shouldnt be too bad unless your car has taken a beating.... but i was just looking at some prices and yeah, you should be able to get those 3 things for around $600 (i was thinking it was more). so you could probably throw in a set of decent shocks/struts and be at about your $1000 budget.
