Default Permatex Vinyl repair kit?

Has anybody experience with this kit? Seems like a pretty nice kit- even comes with a fancy plug-in heating tool, fabric backer, filler, etc... Only thing is it appears to be designed for dashboards and non-vert vinyl tops, in other words not moving vinyl. Still, for $15 at the local parts store, maybe its worth a try?

They also have a leather and vinyl upholstery repair kit that may work well, although I wonder if its less weather resistant?

I could be mistaken, but aren't the tops made out of fabric and not vinyl?

Mine is vinal too. I was wondering about this kit as well for a couple of small tears where the top folds and has cracked.

Let us know how it works.
