Default Radio/6 CD player questions

I have the original factory radio/6 CD player in my 2002 Convertible. The CD player does not work, and I don't know if there is a CD in the unit or not.
Any tips on removal of the unit, and likewise, is it worth even getting it replaced or repaired?

The local auto sound people tell me I should just replace it with a single CD Radio/player.

I have the Mach system without the subwoofer.

It really easy to remove the unit. pull of the bezel and there are two screws holding it in.

I'd look for someone with a working one sitting on a shelf in their garage before paying to repair yours. Or upgrade to an aftermarket unit.
