Default I need advice on adhesive to repair a top

I bought my '94 last month and am having some problems with my top. I started looking at it and the second and third crossbars aren't even ran thru the pockets on the top. The rear pocket (that holds the weight of the rear window) has torn away. The top is not damaged.....but the the pocket adhesive failed. It's opened up. I need to run bars 2 and 3 thru the pockets and reglue the pocket for the rear bar. What should I use?????? Do you run screws thru the pockets into the bars?? There appears to be some sort of holes there. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Default

i swapped out the top frame and canvas on my 89. the first and second cross rails was bent on the new one so i used the ones from my old top frame. it might not be exactly the same on urs but after i slid the rails in they screwed down on each side and about 3 tiny screws in the middle of the bar to hold the top to the rail good. then a plastic cover snaps over it along the rail. i think that was the conv. headliner that snapped in place on the rail. anyway a glue strong glue is a spray adhesive( fabric glue) that you can get from a fabric store or even autozone for about 15 bucks. or maybe you can get a needle and thread. i had one small rip in the new top so i sewed it and put clear silicon around the stitching. dosent look too bad.. i can always replace the canvas but i needed that frame bad.
