Default conv. 1/4 window power to crank / top problems

i have an 89 and i want to go from power quarter windows to manual crank.
yes that would make it easier to break into but even if i leave the handle off and use it when i need to. how would i convert it to manual roll up 1/4 windows?

Also, when i hit the top switch i get the clicking in both directions up/down
but nothing happens. i replaced the top motor but it was from the junk yard.
i get the same action. are my hydraulic cylinders froze and not allowing top to move or motor to do what it should?
how can i check it?

why do you want to go to manual windows? i think its not worth the time nor effort.

everynow and then i get the clicking noise, what i do is lean back and shake the motor while holding the button, (i have no back seat and its usually when its down) and it starts to work

so it makes me think that i have a bad ground or air in the system. did you install the pump? did you bleed it?

yes i put the new/used pump in. i didnt bleed it. what oil should i use?
should i be able to push or pull the rod in the hydraulic cylinder by hand.. cause i cant.
the windows i just thought it would be cheaper to make manual than to buy new motors.
i dont put my top down because the 1/4 windows stay up and i dont like how that looks.

I changed my 1/4 windows from power to manual on my 88 'vert. You need the whole crank assembly for manual. I changed for simplicity. Something less to go wrong.

Default 1/4 window cranks

My assemblies came out of an '87. They bolted right in the factory holes. If you look in a catalog you can get an idea of what years you can use. Somebody must sell them. I haven't looked myself but will if I get a chance. I loaned my catalogs to a friend who is building now.
