Default S197 Ragtop Owners: Quick question

Ragtop owners, I have a quick question.

When you put your top down, does the material bunch up where the top meets the trunk lid? I find myself having to stop the top like 6" from being down all the way, just to stuff the fabric down so it doesnt bunch over once its fully retracted.

I had to go to my dealer today and asked around if the sales/service people knew if this happened to all of them, or just mine. To no surprise nobody knew what I was talking about, so I figured id ask the forum.

Thanks for any input!

That is not normal at all. What does it look like as it retracts? It's almost like something between the top and the headliner isn't holding the top correctly at the front fold.

I'd take it back to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty. If it's doing this all the time, it should be easy to reproduce the problem for them.

Ok thats what i wanted to make sure. It's still under warranty, so there isn't going to be an issue there. I just didn't know if it happened to every one of them, and when i went to the dealer they only had viny tops on the lot, so i couldn't test it.

Thanks a lot for the responses! I'll let you know if they think its an issue, because when I asked around everybody looked at me like i had 3 heads

If they looked at you like that, I think I'd take it elsewhere.

Haha, if they tell me there is nothing wrong, i certainly will. However nobody could recall people coming back complaining about it, so I kinda knew from that it was most likely just mine. Thanks again for the reassurance that it was an issue!

mine does not have the same problem, you need to have it fixed by a dealership who knows what they are talking about.

They have all of their interior/vert work done by this other company, and I talked to some manager and he had his 67' top replaced, and said they did a great job. So im not to worried about it, just glad that I dont have to deal with it anymore!
