Default 96 Conv. Problem

Ok so i just recently got a 1996 Conv. Cobra. The problem im having is that the previous owner told me he replaced the top but did not adjust it so when i try to bring the top down it'll go about 3/4 down and then the window gets really tight and doesn't seem to fold right. The top then just stops like if its stuck and it doesn't go down anymore. I've been told that if I were to try to keep bringing it down that my rear window will shatter into a million pieces and I don't want that so I really don't know what to do. I've looked around town for a shop to see if anyone would know about Convertible tops and no one does so i'm a little lost here. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone know how to adjust these tops. Thanks!

Toolmoto:

I am suspicious that the problem with your 'Vert is that the conv. top is not folding the steel linkage properly. The problem is that if the crossbow (say #2) doesn't swivel back in the correct way, the other ones might not fold properly because #2 is in the way.

You probably will have to go to a larger town and find a top shop to look at it.
We are listed frequently in the Yellow Pages under "Automobile Upholstery, Seatcovers"
