Default 1995 GT Convertible Tension Cable Location

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just joined the site, new top going on my 1995 GT. Old top, tension cables were not connected to the quarter panel. Does anybody know where these connect? Possibly a picture? Thanks... Installer is waiting. Much appreciated!
thanks
Mark

These connect to a hole on the backside of where the weatherseal track is screwed to. Just behind where the 1/4 glass window is.

However,,,,, there's also a tension cable that goes through a grommet down into the body. Which one are you talking about?

Talking about the one that goes through the grommet, I think the installer figured it out. He had to take the interior side panels off and with very little room had someone with a small hand hook them up where they should go. Not sure why they were disconnected? Car has 30k miles and very little paintwork? From the factory by mistake... got me.
Thanks... feel free to confirm our findings if you know... Thanks scan1959!

O.K. I've never had these lower cables come loose down in the body.

When taking off the old top, you have to clamp the cable loop with a pair of vise grips and physically pull up, unhook at the grommet and then set the cable aside until you are ready to put it thru the grommet on the new top.

This process is difficult. Probably why it was never hooked back up. Knuckle buster.

You are right on that scan, it was a job...
Car will be fun.
I have a few other cars too, 1970 Olds 442 W30 and 1983 Hurst Olds.
Not something to post on a Mustang site, LOL
Have a good day, thanks for the info...
