Asked to drive my vert in the 4th of July parade. Advice welcome
I've been asked to drive the Grand Marshall in our town's 4th of July parade in my 04 GT convertible. I want to do it but I don't want to risk damage to my top. My thoughts are to pad the seat top with a of couple quilts or maybe an inflated pool float and then ask the GM, a 180lb male, to keep his weight on the front edge of the seat back. Anyone have any experience or advice to offer?

I've been asked to do it before also and I did and they don't want to sit in the seat, they're going to want to sit on the beauty queen seat so they can wave to the adoring masses.
Just make sure they don't sit on the frame and your idea of quilts, half inflated pool float etc. to soften the blow between their fat asses and your top is a good one.
NO HEELS! The brat/bitch/**** I was carrying insisted on wearing her CFM heels which I could tell were going to puncture my back seat. I nailed the colors to the mast and refused to move until she took off her shoes. It pissed her off but I told her that she was free to sit in the seat or walk the parade route but that she wasn't going put her spike covered dogs on my seat. Not just no, but HELLL NOO!
Don't forget the bag of candy for tossing to the kids.
