Default Need help with top not working on 87 Mustang

I bought this 87 last year around September. When I bought the car, the motor worked but one of the lines (hoses) leaked. In October, I had a heater core issue that required me to pull the dash. After doing so, the top stopped working. What I hear at this moment is clicking. I pulled the seats and inner quarter interior panels to fix regulator bushing issue and while I had everything out I thought I would check it out. So what I hear at this moment is the clicking on one relay and with parking brake set I hear clicking on the other relay. 2 relays total. I have yet to check to see if I have power going to the motor. I feel somewhat dumb to post this since since I have not checked for power. I am in the process of locating a volt meter. Assuming I have power to this motor, it should work. If I have power going to the motor, then the motor must be bad. Just kind of odd or coincidental that this thing worked prior to pulling the dash.

I traced it back to a 25a circuit breaker under the dash. Had no idea it was there. Got it working..

This is good to know I have an 88 convertible and I have to pull my dash off to fix my heater core and replace my evaporator so I'll pay attention to this. Where exactly is the 25a circuit breaker located?

it sounds like a bad ground wire. you might have knocked it off while working on the bash.

It is on a wire electrical taped together behind the steering wheel. It is tucked up pretty high.

I'm at a bit of a disadvantage in that I'm at my place in Canada and my car is sitting in Florida so I can't run out and check it but I do remember that I saw a finger sized harness taped together with electrical tape and it had a blue or green fuse sticking out of it. I did check that fuse and it was good. It definitely wasn't a 25 amp circuit breaker as described above by jruppert. So for clarity 302Ragtop would it be a normal automotive fuse as I described that I found or would it be the larger circuit breaker with the silver colored exterior? Any help on this is appreciated. I'm heading back down at the end of the month and would like to get the top working.

One of your relays is probably bad they are located behind the back seat. One is up one is down.
