RE: Strip Wax before Applying Sealant?
Well I guess that my biggest question is:
If I use a coat of sealant and then a coat of wax over that, and then wash it at the quarter car wash some and hand wash some, will I have to do anything six months from now when I use the sealant again? Does that fact that I want to use sealant every six months keep me from using wax over the sealant? Will I have to do something special in six months to reseal it since wax was put over it?
Thanks for your help.

I am ignorant on the subject. I plan on using Klasse sealant and my six month expectation is based on what I have read on this forum. If you have a better suggestion, I'm all ears.

I am planning on hand washing, claying and then putting on the sealant. This is a new car. Do I still need to use a cleaner before the sealant? I have a Maguars cleaner I can use if necessary. I am planning on doing this tomorrow.
Thanks again for all the replies.

RE: Strip Wax before Applying Sealant?
Okay, the job is done. I hope is done correctly.
I clayed, followed by using the Maguiars Cleaner. I then put on the Klasse sealant and after it was over the whole car I took it all off and almost immediately put on a coat of Gold Class. Did I not leave the Klasse on long enough?
I plan on doing this again in six months after washing it all Winter at the quarter car wash. Will I be able to simply do the same procedure again or will I have to do something to strip the wax?
I did all this by hand on Saturday. I am 57 years old but in good physical condition. In fact a year or so ago I took a treadmill test and they said that I went longer than anyone else they had ever seen that was over 50. Even so, I was POOPED after all this.
Thanks for all your help and please answer these remaining questions.

You will have to strip the wax before you put the sealant on. Sealant will not bond right if you put it over wax. Usually when I put on a sealant I let cure for 8-24 hours to make sure that is bonds right and cures.

Do you mean that you put the sealant on and then let it set for 8 to 24 hours before rubbing it off?
So even 6 months from now after all these quarter car washes I will have to strip the wax? If so what will be the best procedure for stripping?
Thanks a million.
