Unless you own a Cobra, putting the cobra emblems on your car looks STUPID.

Wow you guys are vicious on here. I just did a google search to find out it the holes in the fenders of my 07 GT under the "GT" badges were the same as the Snakes from the Cobra. Yes I too will be swapping for the "Snakes" Call me what you will though and then take a closer look at ones self. Let me ask some of you this. Ever added a Roush hood to your GT? So are you a Roush poser because of it? Everyone on this board is proud of the Stang they own, and loves to change it in some way. To me that makes the sea of ordinary cars , less ordinary. Along with the "Snakes" I will be adding I have ordered the entire front clip for the GT500, the rear spoiler and trunk emblem. Thanks to a deer and good insurance the "replica " conversion won't cost me too much. Now we all know that It still isn't a Shelby GT500, far from it but if a guy like me who can't afford 60k for one car why can't I make these modifications without getting bashed by a GT owner who put a Saleen front bumper cover on. It's not a Saleen but you love it and it makes you happy. Or the 05 v6 stang that the owner works their a** offto make the paymentand puts dual exhaust on it. Every one on here has modded their car in some fashion to do one thing, turn heads,. To bash some one for doing the same is hipocrisy and I personally would have simply helped answer the question if I knew what the answer was and moved on. I don't mean any bad will here, heck this is my first post, but I felt compelled to write something. I have had 19 8 cylinder Mustangs from 1980 255v8 to the current 07 GT. I haven't modded them all but I had one cool 91 GT that looked like a 93 Cobra . It was sold as a GT but looked cooler. I never told anyone it wasn't a GT. I say mod the heck out of your Mustang, thirty years from now some excited kid will find one of these cars in a barn somewhere and wonder what he's found. Maybe the real deal GT500, maybe a v6 that looks like one and has lots of history to be traced about it. All in all Mustangs survived where Camaros died because as a group, Mustang owners are passionate about their cars. For those who don't remember or even know, we almost lost the Mustang a we know it back in 1987. The ford Probe was earmarked to replace the current rear drive Mustang and be known as "Mustang III" well most of us know that the "Mustang II" was a bad idea and the "Mustang III" would have been worse! Lets keep buying these horses, call them whatever we want , make them look like whatever we want and keep the stallions alive. Long live the v8 rear drive Mustang!!!!!!!!!!

i hate you....

when you look at a car and see a cobra bumper... you dont think "Ohhh that MUST be a cobra"

when you look at a car with cobra emblums.. you think "ohh that MUST be a cobra"

Then you hear it.... and well.... *cough* ricer *cough*

A GT is a GT... not a Cobra, not a GT500... be proud of what you got... dont go trying to get that "extra" look to make you look cool.

I hate you...

btw theres a GT-to-Cobra mustang (fully stock, just cobra body kit + emblums)... I dont even look at it as a Mustang...

Adding Roush, SVT or Saleen components to your car does not make you a poser it makes you a modder. Mods are improvements to your vehicles performance or looks which are all well and fine. Adding badges makes you a poser [:'(] Your car is a Mustang GT, be proud of that. Make it as unique as you want, but don't pose with badges of something your car is not. Thats about as polite as one can say it
