Default RE: Removing GT emblems and mounting snakes?

I am hated already! Well thats just fine. I'm surprised sowaxeman that you don't sympathize with me, being a fellow muisician and all. (20 years and 9 Ibanez RG guitars) A mod is a mod is a mod. whether for looks or for performance. A car is a car is a car. Ford made it a Mustang or Cobra or whatever. You make it different. After some thought I may actually just do the body conversion, nix the snakes and add a Boss 302 style stripe package to it. I don't care what you all think of it, it will look unique and that is all that matters to me. So you all keep hatin out there, but I AM Ford! I race a dirt late model witha 69 windsor based Roush headed engine and pull it with a Ford expedition and I gaze over at my 1983 Gt 5spd sitting behind me in the showroom of my shop. And across the way at the 89Gt that is getting restored down to the K-member and rear end. So hate me all you want, I've always been Ford and always will be. Never owned a ricer, never will. Wouldn't park one in my garage!
Honestly wouldn't it be pretty lame to go to an all mustang show and see 200 showroom stock cars? I say make it yours any way you like, if others are jealous because the hot chicks asking you ?s about why yours has this and that on it, get over it. It's mine and I'll put a frickin SS badge on the side if I want to. That will start a conversation...............peace

Grow up buddy, your apparently 20+ years old, communicate like it! Nobody said a damn word about "hating" on you or the original poster of this question. We all just collectively shared our thoughts on what a bad idea this is...simple as that. We are all intitled to bad ideas, but nobody "hated" on anyone. Putting fake badges on acar = posing and = bad idea. Do what you want, sure - but the majority will tell you its a bad idea.

Nobody asked or said a thing about all your Ford Mustangs or race cars or support vehicles....what the hell does that have to do with the original question of this post [&:] And if you think there is something lame about going to a Mustang show with 200+ 'stangs where the majority of them are showroom stock or concourse restorations, then go ahead and buy those SS badges - perhaps you should buy the whole car. You're the one that blew this thing out of proportion [&:]

Actually sowaxeman I am 34 and have an IQ of 133 so I'm all growed up and communicate fine. It is all of you who lost the meaning of the original question. I believe he asked a technical ? yet got opinionated answers. I didn't read anything like "hey guys how would you all feel inside if I did this" and furthermore if you read the post directly after my first one, what is the first line..........................mmmmmmm "I Hate You" thats al good and well, I didn't join this forum because I have nothing to be doing, I found it by Googling a similar ? as the poor fella you all threw under the bus. Things have really changed for Mustang afficianados, this new breed are like camaro guys, infighting and such. Where I'm from, Mustangers wave at every other Mustanger whether we know them or not. It's a respect thing, not a jealousy thing. We have Mustang clubs here to and we have all kins of modded ones, but we understand that everyone is different and has a different vision as to what their car should LOOK LIKE not BE. Lastly, if you put a Roush hood on your 07 Stang you are a modder right? But if you add all the suspension , engine upgrades, stripes, uh oh now you are just like ME! or are you? I might see your fake Roush and think it came that way, if you fool me , and don't clarify what it is are you a poser now? Or are you smart for having a sweet car that starts conversations among fellow Mustang enthusiasts, and did it for half of what Roush would have charged. If your gonna be critical of me or the other guy "adding snakes" then you all better have Jack himself add the Roush parts or stop bashing the rest of us.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Everyone voiced in their opinion to benefit him and all mustang owners. Wherever he goes people will rip on him for having these emblems. Then when he gets beat by a Honda Civic they are gonna brag about how they beat a Cobra.

133 IQ - is that supposed to impress us?

I do like the mustang wave thought, I wish we all had one llike Corvette guys do.

oh and btw I like how you are bragging about your intelligence and you say "im all growed up"

BTW putting Cobra badges on a GT is COMPLETELY rice. It is HORRIBLE.

Why pretend to be something your not?

Rice rice and more rice.

Well LM, I'm willing to clear the air here - sorry I blew up at you.

But still, the question at hand is thought of by most as a bad idea. All the things you mention in your post are moddifications that are commonly done. No biggie by most peoples opinions. But when you start using badges of a car that your car is not (regardless of how you mod it) you are going to stir up those opinions. You are correct that this thread was a simple yes or no question that did not ask for opinions, but had the orginal poster used the SEARCH feature he/she would have found SEVERAL posts about emblems, how to remove them, will they fit...etc So when things get rehashed over and over again, and when a topic in general is looked upon as a bad idea by the majority then you will get these opinions.

So, to the original question....yes it can be done. Just be prepared for all the questions that come with doing something like this.

wow this is getting heated. putting cobra badges on a GT is just asretarded as putting a cobra front bumper on a GT, or a roush bumper, or saleen.

Nah, I wouldn't go that far. Adding bumpers/fascia's is an appearance mod. All well and fine. But badges are a cars identifier, adding them is fake no matter how you shake it.
