well i just get excited when i see a cobra or saleen. but when i look upon further inspection, and see that it's a fake, i get disapointed. i dunno, to each his own. be proud of what you got. sometimes trying to be different just ends up making your car look retarded.

Well I guess the debate will rage on forever! Anyway this is all supposed to be light-hearted banter on here after all. So DUFFMAN, I'm not really trying to impress anyone on here with my intelligence, I was just being funny with SOWAXEMAN. He like all of you has a strong opinion and I personallyrespect everyones opinion. We are individuals, no two exactly alike and as much as I would like to change someones mind about a particular subject I should have known better. By the time you have bought your Stang and joined a forum we've already shown we have strong feelings about something and aren't easily swayed. We're al going to either buya stockMustang and never change it, or mod the heck out of it, either way we'll enjoy our cars and look good doing it! Lastly, if any of you get a chance, check out Dirt Late Model racing. If you love going fast for 10 seconds down a 1/4 mile, you might like drifting around the turns of a banked 1/4 mile oval. Most of us CANT afford a Cobra... so we have our GT's. And we are damn proud of them.
when you buy a cobra, you get:
The better engine
the enhanced body the cobra emblums
Thats their fame. Not yours. If you want the Cobras on your car... your gonna have to work your ass off to afford one.. not just throw the badges on and call it a day. You dont DESERVE cobra badges. I dont care how you feel about it, no mustang "enthusiest" will put the wrong badges on his car.
I went to a car show this week at Lows Motor Speedway... 100's of mustangs... NONE of them were "fake", all modded to there drives likes. Custom interiors, exteriors, engine parts, engines, etc. Not a single one had the wrong badges on it, no matter the mods or not. There were more enthusiest there than you will ever meet in your life. I garentee you that I could ask any single person what they felt about butting cobra badges on a GT and every single one of them, cobra or not, would loose all respect for me.

HYPOCRITE!!!!!!!!! So you can put a saleen bumper, or cobra rims, or cobra headlights, or aroush suspension on a stock GT and thats fine, but when you put cobra emblems(or any emblem for that matter) on your GT that makes it fake? What if he just likes the snake?
LM116's point of view makes me want to go outside and mount some GT500 snakes on my car & put a Shelby badge on my trunk.
Why make it something it clearly isnt? Unless the car is a TRUE clone (IE, swapped drivetrain & suspension), why would you ever think it's normal or cool to put the wrong badges on your car?
Why don't you call your Late Model a Formula 1 car? Because it isn't. Next time you are at the track, walk to the hauler next to you and tell the other driver & crew all about your Formula 1 car you brought to the track. They will look at you like you are nuts and laugh when you turn your back.
