Default bodywork

Hi, when it comes to body work i am a n00b, i have some dent here and there and was wondering if anyone knows how to smooth them out? I have one dent which looks like someone whipped a baseball into my passenger side rear quaterpanel, can you beat that out and then sand it down to pretty much refurbish it? or does it have to go in to professionals for them to do. I really dont want to drop a couple grand to fix my body, i want to see if there is a way to fix it myself before doing so.

Any and i mean Any information will be greatly appreciated
thank you Anthony

Default RE: bodywork

you could go buy a dent puller at kragen for like $15 and some bondo, a bondo file, some sand paper and a sanding board and try to pull it out as much as possible then use the bondo to smooth it out. it wouldnt match but you could take it to a shop and have them just paint that spot to match the rest of the car.
